Got A lot of pictures of this buck this last year on my property. Seen him total of 3 times. Once on Nov. 2nd. I had an chance at him at 45 yd. but he was chasing off bucks on my bean field and the shot just didn't feel right so I past him up. It was the first day archery hunting of a 6 day hunt so I thought I would surely get another opportunity at him, but it didn't come. Seen him again during the gun season but he was in a different field then the one I was in and right at dark. So I archery hunted again after the gun season but did not see him. Then muzzleloader season came around and on the 2nd last night I was hunting a doe showed up and since I been waiting to kill this buck I neglected the the freezer so I decided to try for the doe. At 140 yds. with a steady rest I put her straight down. Now this was with about 1/2 hour of shooting light left, and since I could see the doe from my tower blind, I decided just to leave her lay and load the front stuffer back up. Wow! I'm sure glad I did because in just 10 min. after killing that doe guess what showed up at 150 yds. The buck I dubbed the "Big Eight" and he had his head up in an overhanging branch rakeing it. Well with a carbon copy shot of the doe, I put him down. Man what a night!

Sorry to get back to you so late, Things are slow around here, more so lately than in the past. Congrats that is a big boy and the doe sounds good too. Patients is a virtue. You waited and the reward was a good size doe and one heck of a buck.

Thanks for sharing that memory. I enjoy hearing these memories. Keep sharing with us I hope to see more of you here in the future, tell your friends and lets make this a place we can all gather and just relax and be our selves. (BEEEEELCHHH) oh please excuse me. LOL

Will

Hey Typical 171! What a nice buck! Bet he tastes good too. Thanks for sharing the pics with us. It'll be a few months now before I can go after any deer. But, I can come on the forum here and drool over the pics once in a while Lol!

Thanks for the kind words. Even though he's not my biggest buck, he is a very special one. I'm posting another picture of this one and his "buddy" he was hanging with all the way up to late October. He's a nice one also probably in the 150in class. If he is still around this fall you can bet he will be in my sights.
