I'm shooting a 50 lb. Bear 76er (recurve) with Carbon arrows of matched spine & at 10-20 yds. my group is 2-3in. but the arrows enter at an angle every time. I've heard lots of possible reasons, all different! What is the truth? I believe I'm pushing them too hard & the nock wants to 'Pass' the 'Point'??? Is there a 'Test' & 'Fix'??? Tnx. John

Are you sure they are the right spine? I was shooting carbons that I thought where the right spine out of my recurve but they were doing the same thing as you described. After doing some different point weights I concluded that I was WAY overspined and had to drop 175 grains up front on a full length shaft.

Hi Outlaw! Tnx. for the quick reply. My son lives in Aurora & wants me there as well. Yes, I can see what Ur saying & that's just what it seems like, that the 'front' of the arrow is too heavy & the 'rear' wants to 'pass' it & the fletching is not 'grabbing' enough air to keep it 'inline'. Would it hurt to remove the field point & replace it with a screw just long enough to hold in the shaft & keep the hay out??? If then this corrects the situation, what can I do to be able to use the field points & broad heads? I can weigh them & see the difference. Then possibly 'Drill & Load' them to that spec. with magnesium or just change 'points'. John

Hey Moose,

You might see some difference in just choosing a lighter field point. If you are using a 125 gr or 100 gr, you have room to move down to at least a 75gr.
